Before the project

  1. Sloping backyard
  2. No kids play area
  3. Muddy lawns
A large overgrown sloppy backyard with constantly muddy lawns, lack of play areas for the children and poor use of the pool area.

Now

  1. Good use of space
  2. Tough hedges to soften borders
  3. Tolerant plants can handle kids playing and are low maintenance
  4. Turf areas and play equipment for kids to play on (Cubby house and swings)
  5. Paved dining areas
  6. Wide steps that lead into garden
  7. Herb garden for cooking and teaching kids where food come from
  8. Storage areas hidden behind hedges
  9. Fencing for pool area
  10. Raised garden beds around pool to be used as seating
  11. Formal hedging in front garden for privacy
  12. Lighting through out the gardens
All the available space has been put to good use, they are all linked by the wide steps that lead to the well lit garden complemented by the large paved dining areas, the children now enjoy a turf area surrounding their Cubby House and swings, the pool has been fenced with a modern and regulations complying specifications; all plants used are tolerant of playing children and are low maintenance, the introduction of tough hedges, soften the borders and hide the storage areas behind them. The raised garden beds around the pool area are also used as seating.

The front of the house has been given an increased degree of privacy by the introduction of hedging.
